If you're after a bakery in Sutherland, The Station Patisserie is a name that comes up easily, and it's a familiar stop for anyone passing through near the station. It's a patisserie cafe where the cakes, pies, sausage rolls and sourdough are all made in-house daily. They've picked up the Sutherland Shire Most Outstanding Bakery/Cake Business award for 2022 and 2023.

The savoury side gets love. Locals mention the pies and sausage rolls in the same breath, and one person singled out a chicken parmi pie loaded with schnitzel pieces, onion and tomato, while another raved about the sour cherry pie. There are sandwiches and baked sweets too, plus sourdough for the loaf-and-toast crowd.

On the sweet side, the old-school favourites do well here. The hummingbird cake is lovely, and there's a loyal following for the cinnamon scrolls, which are getting harder to find elsewhere. One local asked for a cinnamon scroll cake for a partner's birthday and called the result just perfect.
