NYC Bagel Deli

A bagel shop in the Chermside dining precinct, NYC Bagel Deli is a handy stop if you're shopping at Westfield and want something more interesting than a food court default. It's a busy, noisy spot by nature, but the bagels are a draw.

The menu runs to a good spread of fillings, and the smoked salmon bagel is on offer. Club-style bagels with smoked chicken, bacon and rocket get a good word too, and a Reuben has been ordered, though one local was disappointed with how it compared to the menu description. There's a choice of bagel buns, including a gluten-free option, and one visitor who went gluten-free was thrilled with the result. Cream cheese and jam on a blueberry bagel appeals to some.

Vegan and vegetarian eaters get a fair go here. A loaded vegan bagel with avocado, tomato, cucumber and rocket has won over at least one person who struggled to find anything suitable elsewhere in the centre, and that's the sort of thing that sends people back for a second visit. Coffee, breakfast and a few pastries round things out, and you can dine in, take away or have it delivered.

Staff are known for being friendly and quick, with food often reaching tables fast, and people tend to find it good value for a proper sit-down feed. The odd local reckons quality has slipped, with the toasting and fillings not what they once were, and the space can feel a bit cramped and busy, especially near the arcade across the way. If you like your coffee very hot, ask for it that way.

There's a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, free parking nearby, and card and tap payments are accepted. It's open seven days, but check the hours before you head in, particularly if you're after a favourite bagel flavour late in the morning.
