About Goldies Bake Shop - Q Super Centre

Goldies Bake Shop at the Q Super Centre is a bakery in Mermaid Waters that part of the Goldie's Bake Shop family-owned group, so the cakes, pies and savouries here come from a well-known local name. The tagline is fresh cakes made daily, and pies are among the offerings people come back for.

Locals will tell you the pies are the main event. Meat pies and vegetable options like satay vegetable pie and cauliflower and broccoli pie feature, and one person raved about a satay vegetable pie that came out piping hot, fresh from the oven. The family meat pies get a particular mention for good value, the sort you'd keep a spare of in the freezer. We've heard the odd grumble that a pie or two wasn't to everyone's taste, but the overall word is a decent one.

Custom cakes are the other big draw. Birthday cakes are the one people come back to year after year, with vanilla sponge, carrot cake and photo-topped cakes and cupcakes all getting a good wrap, and ordering online for pickup is described as easy. On the sweeter side, the vanilla slice, lamingtons and carrot cake appear on the menu.

They also do catering packs for parties and events, plus takeaway and barista coffee if you want something warm while you wait. The staff come across as friendly and helpful, and there's an accessible entrance and car park. Check the hours before you go, as weekends differ slightly from weekdays.
