Zone Bakery is known locally for pies that keep customers coming back, paired with fresh bread and pastries that locals rave about. The takeaway counter offers good value and a friendly team, making it a solid choice for a quick bakery stop in Rothwell.

About Zone Bakery

Zone Bakery is a takeaway bakery in Rothwell, Queensland, and pies are what locals bring up first. We've heard the plain pie described as the best someone had eaten in years, enough to send them back for a second one. Bread and rolls get a fair bit of praise too, with people saying they come out fresh from the oven, and sausage rolls, pastries and doughnuts round out the counter. One local raved about a soft, light jam and cream sponge roll, and the value gets a nod across the board.

Staff come across as friendly, and one young woman on the counter, Katelyn, earned a special mention for being lovely to deal with. Coffee is available to go with your order.

The odd local has been underwhelmed by the sandwiches and some of the sweeter lines, and there are a few grumbles about freshness on a bad day, so it's best to stick to what the shop does well and check dates on packaged drinks. It's a small, dimly lit shop with minimal seating, so it suits grabbing something to take home rather than settling in.

Getting in is straightforward, with a free car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, and they take cards and tap-and-go payments. They open early and run through the weekend, but check the hours before you head in.
