Why Choose Banjo's Bakery Café?

Banjo's is the reliable local choice for pies and pastries, with a steak pie that keeps customers coming back. The Kings Meadows location offers warm, attentive service, and you can sit by the window with a coffee and cake special or grab a spinach roll to take away.

About Banjo's Bakery Café

If you're after a bakery in Kings Meadows, Tasmania, Banjo's Bakery Café is a familiar stop for a pie, a coffee or a quick bite. It's a franchise bakery café, and the pitch is simple: breads baked fresh daily on the premises, plus cakes, savouries, donuts, hand-made treats and breakfast.

Pies are what it's known for around here. One local raved about a chunky steak pie with crisp pastry, a good meat-to-gravy balance and no need for sauce. Others point to spinach rolls and a lemon loaf, and the coffee and cake special has its fans too. We've heard the odd grumble about the coffee being on the mild side and some hot pastries not being quite hot enough, so it's a fair idea to ask for yours straight from the warmer.

The staff earn a lot of goodwill. Regulars describe a warm, community feel, and one vegetarian local was delighted when a staff member happily made a fresh egg bun without bacon. Service is occasionally uneven, as it can be anywhere, and someone has found online orders slow to come together, but the general word is friendly.

You can dine in, take away or have your order delivered, and they also do catering and custom cake orders. There's a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, free street parking nearby, and card and tap payments are accepted. They're open daily from early, though it's worth checking the hours before you head in.

What Customers Say on Google

Bread

“Tried a chunky steak pie at Kings Meadows Tasmania, and as soon as I finished, I wanted another. Pastry, is crispy on outside and not soggy inside, with a local bakery taste, almost perfect. Meat to gravy ratio is great with a nice amount of big tender chunks, well flavoured and did not require any sauce.”

Staff

“The staff are very warm and friendly and proud to offer exemplary service.”

Pastries

“My favourite is Spinach rolls. Highly recommend. Even very happy with the coffee as well.”
