About K & A Bakery

K & A Bakery is a Vietnamese bakery in Clyde North, Victoria, and banh mi is popular with customers. Locals rave about the roast crispy pork and the chicken version, with fresh, soft bread that holds its fillings and salads that stay crisp. A couple of people would like a bit more chilli or pate, so ask for extra if you like yours punchy.

The cabinet goes well beyond rolls. Spring rolls, dimsims and rice paper rolls sit alongside sweet things like custard tarts, custard swirls, scones and cinnamon rolls, and we hear the sweets lean fresh rather than sugary. Cheese bread sticks and bacon bread have their own fans, and there's a crispy pork rice noodle salad if you want something other than bread. Fresh from the oven is the common thread, and people also call the prices good value.

Staff get plenty of kind words. The team at the counter is described as friendly and welcoming, and one visitor even gave a shout-out to Jessie and the crew. One person had a bad experience with a chicken roll, but the overall word around the area is strongly positive.

You can eat in, take away or have it delivered, and coffee is on offer too. Parking is free, either on the street or in the car park, which includes wheelchair-accessible spaces, and cards and mobile payments are accepted. Check the hours before you head in.
