Mistr Dough

If you're after something a bit different from the usual Greenvale bakery run, Mistr Dough is a Middle Eastern bakery and dessert bar inside Greenvale Shopping Centre. The focus is freshly baked breads, savoury pastries and handcrafted desserts, mixing traditional Middle Eastern flavours with a modern touch.

What people keep coming back for is the savoury baking. Pies are a big part of the reputation here, and the cheese pie in particular gets a mention, along with the manoush (the sucuk, meat and cheese versions come up by name). One local who took a selection home described the pastries as crispy outside with properly cheesy fillings, and said a few minutes in the airfryer brought them right back. Another fed a group of seven on assorted boats, pizzas and cheese pie and was already making excuses to return. Things come out fresh from the oven, and you can taste it.

It works just as well for a sit-down breakfast or a coffee. Coffee gets a lot of love, and so does the matcha, with the matcha latte and strawberry matcha both singled out. Staff are described as warm and welcoming, and we hear it has a homely, bright and cosy feel. It's run as a family business, which comes through in the service. One person noted that when an order ran a little late, the team offered to make up for it without being asked.

You can dine in, take away, or order catering for business functions and special occasions. There's free parking, including an accessible car park, and they take cards and tap-and-pay. The bakery opens early and keeps shorter hours on weekends, so check the hours before you head in.
