Parents tend to rate it. There's a kids' corner that keeps toddlers busy, so you can drink your coffee while it's still hot, and one local mum was thrilled to finish a meal for once. Staff are friendly and helpful, and service is quick even when the place is busy.

On the food side, we hear about the hash brown stack, which one local would happily order again, and the Turkish eggs, chilli scrambled eggs and gnocchi with a poached egg. The menu also covers vegetarian and vegan options, and an acai bowl and dal get a mention too. The cabinet is a real drawcard for a bakery in Bassendean: pastries and cakes with good variety, including an Oreo almond croissant packed with filling, a blueberry almond loaf and apple cake. Coffee draws mostly good words, though it can run strong, and one regular found a flat white a touch cool and weak on the day. One local calls it a bit pricey but the food great. Another warned that ordering from the table costs more than ordering at the till, so it's worth knowing before you sit down.

If you can't get out, there's takeaway and delivery, including no-contact drop-off, and one local who ordered delivery was impressed by how closely the kitchen followed their instructions. Catering and private functions are available too.

It's a pleasant spot to tuck into a pastry and a good coffee in Bassendean, before the zoo or after the school drop-off.
