Jenny's Bakery in Eastwood is the kind of bakery that's rarely quiet, and locals will tell you that's part of the appeal. It has been feeding this corner of Adelaide for 30 years, and the flagship Eastwood store sits alongside two other shops under the same name. People come for the pastries first, then stay for the coffee.

The pastry cabinet is where the talk usually starts. Croissants get plenty of love, with the almond one a particular favourite, and people also rave about the pistachio cream version, cronuts and the coffee choux bun. Cheesecake fans have their picks too, and the pistachio bomboloni gets a good wrap. On the savoury side there are pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches and paninis, though one regular found the filling in a standard meat pie a touch dry, so the sweet side seems to be the real draw. Things come fresh from the oven, and the pastry holds its crispness well, even hours later in the car.

It works for a sit-down or a quick grab. There's dine-in, takeaway, breakfast and a proper coffee setup, with greenery out the front that adds to the relaxed feel. The coffee gets a good wrap, including the white mocha, and beans are available to take home. Custom cake orders are on offer too, and people have ordered birthday cakes through the online ordering for takeaway. Prices are good value for the quality.

Be ready for a crowd. The queue and the seating area can get hectic, especially on weekend mornings, but a take-a-number system keeps things moving and the staff stay cheerful even when flat out. Visitors from interstate have come away impressed, and regulars describe the team as friendly and welcoming.
