About Bakers Delight Southland - Coles

Bakers Delight Southland is the Cheltenham branch of the familiar bread chain, set up inside the Southland shopping centre, so it suits a quick stop between other errands. It does takeaway and in-store shopping, with breakfast on the menu too, and people most often talk about the bread and the pastries.

Helpful staff are what come up most for this shop. One local told us a young person behind the counter went out of her way to look up the car park on her own phone and point a stranger in the right direction. Others have singled out staff by name for knowing their bread, talking through the different loaves and helping them find what they were after. A fruit loaf picked up on a shopping trip got a happy mention as well.

We'll be straight with you: opinion is a little split. Some folks have grumbled about counter service when it's busy, and the odd pastry has fallen short of expectations, so it's not a flawless record. Still, plenty of people come away pleased, and the bread itself draws little complaint.

Access is easy, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, and you can pay by card or tap with your phone. It's also LGBTQ+ friendly. The shop keeps long hours through the week, but check them before you head in.
