The pies are what people talk about first. We've heard them described as deep and generous, packed with proper steak, and one local singled out a cracked pepper pie with tender pulled brisket as among the best they'd had in a long while. Sausage rolls and hot pies are menu regulars, and the pastry side draws interest too: buttery, flaky croissants and the croffin feature on order slips, along with donuts and spinach and feta rolls. Gluten-free and vegan options are on offer, and gluten-free pastries have their fans.

It's more than a pie shop, though. There's a full hot-food line-up with rolls, wraps, toasties and burrito bowls, plus coffee and breakfast, and you can dine in, take away or have it delivered. Custom cakes and catering are part of the picture as well. One local had them cater a toddler's birthday and praised how easy the ordering was, how well the spread suited the budget, and how nicely it arrived.

Value comes up often, with people pointing out how much there is to choose from for the money, and the staff are regularly called friendly and welcoming. Be aware that it's a busy spot. On busy days, some items may sell out, so earlier in the day gives you the best pick. We've heard the odd complaint about a pie filling or a dry croissant, and delivery timing has caught one or two people out.
